The Ocean Monument-3

Chapter 3

Saskia swam downwards into the chamber, placing a door on the chamber floor. It was dark as midnight there, forcing her to drink her night vision potion. 'I have 3 minutes of night vision, so I'd better be quick,' said Saskia as she swam in search of the Elder Guardian. She found it, or should I say, it found her. It slammed into her character, costing her a few hearts of damage. Saskia turned around, swinging her sword, but the creature had vanished. 'Where are you...' muttered Saskia, swivelling her character's view. There it was– the Elder Guardian. Its purplish-white skin had purple spikes, its eye was wide and unblinking, staring straight at her. Saskia shuddered. She felt the cold tendrils of fear circling her heart, making her want to retreat. But she took a deep breath and soldered on. With newfound bravery, she charged, mashing buttons rapidly to chase and slice at the same time. The Elder Guardian didn’t anticipate the attack—it was used to people running—or in this case, swimming—away—and got a hit in the eye. It screeched and retaliated, using it’s energy beam to give her mining fatigue and chip away at her health. That didn’t bother her though—she was attacking, not escaping. A few more well-placed hits later, the Elder Guardian disappeared in a puff of smoke. The Elder Guardian was defeated. Her quest was over. Saskia swam back to the door, relief coursing through her veins. She did it. She defeated the Elder Guardian.
