The Pendant of the Ages-2

‘I’m tired,’ complained Iris as she clambered through the lower branches of a spruce tree. ‘Better up here than down there,’ retorted Lindsky as she gestured to the foul smelling swamp below. ‘Come on, Tunigia is just up ahead!’ she said enthusiastically, ignoring her friend’s grumbles. After a few more hours, the swamp finally gave way to a forest clearing and they stumbled off the branches, thumping onto the grass. The mountain loomed over them menacingly, as if daring them to come closer. ‘According to the map, there should be a tunnel right…here!’ Lindsky exclaimed as she spotted a hole partially covered by brambles. Just then, Iris realised the sun was setting. ‘Let’s camp here for the night. You’re not the one lugging around a tent!’ Lindsky relented and they pitched the tent and slept for the night.
